Congratulations to Rachel Heck for winning The Bubba Conlee National Golf Tournament at Quail Ridge. Rachel shot 66-71-35 to finish 8-under-par. She finished seven strokes ahead of the second-place finisher.
In its 36th year, The Bubba is known as one of the Mid-South’s premier junior events and hosts college coaches eager to recruit talent from all across the Southeast. Approximately 40 college coaches were in attendance at this year’s event.
Rachel opened Tuesday with six birdies and no bogeys to take a four-shot lead. She reached as low as 10-under-par after opening the second round with four birdies. After a rough patch that saw her drop four strokes, she rebounded by making a birdie on Hole No. 18.
Rachel finished the third and final round with a 35 after rain delays called for a shortened round. She finished the 45-hole tournament with 13 birdies, three bogeys and one double bogey.
Defending champion Abigail Heck, a Notre Dame commitment and Rachel’s older sister, finished 13th at 6-over-par for the event after shooting 77-72-37. Maribeth Peevy also competed and finished tied for 33rd after finishing 18-over-par over 45 holes.
In the boys’ division, Spring Creek Ranch had eight members compete, led by Mississippi State commitment Goodman Rudolph. Goodman shot 75-74-36 to finish tied for 39th at 10-over-par.
Marshall Daniel finished tied for 57th place at 12-over-par. Marshall shot 71-80-36 during the three-day event. Jake Meskin also finished at 12-over-par.
Other competitors were Memphis signee Peyton Dix (T67) and Union signee Cal Templeton (72); Mason Rudolph, Drew Miller and Davis Irving missed the cut after the rain delay forced a cut line.
