Walk-By from the Pro

Ranchers,

The weather has been back and forth like your windshield wipers, making it difficult to decide whether the groundhog, which saw his shadow, has any validity on the extension of this winter.  Several days this week look to have great weather to play, and remember we have covers and heaters for the carts available for the days that are not so great.

I had a long but informative week in Orlando for the PGA Merchandise Show.  There is always something up and coming that gets your attention, and then there are the same old products being introduced with some minor tweaks.  One big thing on the apparel side is a clothing line from Adidas.  Adidas has always been a performance brand, but starting in May, they are introducing a higher-end line called Adipure.  There will only be about eight accounts across Tennessee that will carry this line.  We have been selected as one of those accounts.  Look for announcements in April for that line to come in to the Golf Shop.

Looking at technology side of things, Bushnell has a rangefinder that is super easy to switch from slope readings to non-slope readings.  There is a small switch on the side that is so easy a caveman could do it.

Equipment is a huge topic this year.  Brands such as Titleist, Taylor Made and Callaway have some huge introductions this year.  Call up our fitter, Scott Felix, to pick up those extra yards off the tee and cut strokes off your game.  Contact Scott at (901) 268-7544.

We are very close to finalizing the 2017 tournament schedule this year.  We have a new stroke play tournament, and we have the privilege to host the 2017 TN State Mid-Am Tournament this year.  For those couples that are willing to brave the elements, we have the Polar Bear Classic on Saturday, February 25th.  We encourage couples to invite other couples to participate and have a fun-filled day of golf, food and drinks.  For more information, contact the Golf Shop at (901) 853-5650.

Keep the birdies rolling,
